Lisandro Martínez Just Said What Every Man United Fan Is Thinking… United Lose 2-0 + CL Recap
Manchester United's problems just got louder. Lisandro Martinez called out the club's leadership after another brutal loss, and Antonio and Marco break down why his comments hit a nerve, why the timing matters, and whether speaking up could make him the next high-profile Red Devil to head for the exit.
They go straight at the real question behind the outrage: is this a player overstepping, or the first honest admission of a club-wide collapse? From repeated manager turnover and weak recruitment to the same familiar excuses from the board, this conversation lays out why United's issues run deeper than one bad result.
You'll discover:
- Why Martinez's post-match comments felt like a line in the sand
- Whether Bruno Fernandes, Harry Maguire, or a senior voice should have been the one to speak
- How United's recruitment and ownership failures keep showing up in the results
- Why comparing this era to Roy Keane, Cristiano Ronaldo, and Wayne Rooney only makes the situation look worse
- What it would actually take to fix a club this big that still can't get out of its own way
Antonio and Marco also zoom out to the biggest Champions League stories of the week, including PSG's statement win over Man City, Bayern's shock draw, Arsenal's surge, Barcelona's dominance, and a wild Real Madrid-Roma clash that showed how much top clubs can still be unsettled when the pieces don't quite fit.

Marco: I don't think this was the right time, nor he was the right player to address these concerns They're frustrated, they can't get these wins, they're having issues in Europe, issues domestically in the Premier League,
Project 90 Soccer: he really is just calling out the elephant in the room These problems have just been persistent. They haven't changed. They haven't done nothing.
Marco: did they all talk about this? They'll all like, hey, we need somebody to go out there and and speak to the media and touch on our frustrations,
Project 90 Soccer: it's like man United's forgetting that they're allowed to win these games we are live. Welcome to the Project 90 Soccer Podcast. My name is Antonio, and I'm here with the Red Devil himself, Marco Antonio Munoz. And we're here today with a Champions League match day wrap up. And we want to touch heavily right now on the ongoing shit with Manchester United. United Lissandro Martinez coming out had some choice words for the club, and that follows a two zero loss to Atletico Madrid. They're just it's like man United's forgetting that they're allowed to win these games as well. You know what I'm saying? They're going into these games, and yeah, they have their chances, their opportunities, but man, still getting a two zero loss, Marco. How do you feel about this game, man? How do you feel about Lissandro Martinez and his words and his comments and how it's sort of played out over the past couple of days?
Marco: Well first of all, what's up, Project 90 fam? We back again. but just to get straight into it, I mean the game, there was a lot of mistakes, there was issues going on, and honestly it could have gone both ways, right? These are two struggling teams. They're still trying to find their their footing and w how their season's gonna be looking like, but it seems like Atletico is one one step forward, right? Obviously 'cause man United they just They just don't have the squad to compete right now. They don't, like Lisandro Martinez says, they they didn't bring enough talent coming in, the sporting director, etc., etc. So going into this game, I saw it could have gone both either way. either one of them was gonna either man you or or Simeone and the squad were gonna be taking taking the dub, and it turned out to be Simeone and the squad. But just to just get into straight to Lisandro Martinez comments, I think this is stuff that not only for him but I'm sure all a some other teammates, some other senior teammates like McGuire and and s some of the other guys f have the same sentiments, right? They're frustrated, they can't get these wins, they're having issues in Europe, they're having issues domestically in the Premier League, the ongoing saga that I touched on last with with Carrick, the managers, and I think he just blew his lid. touch touching on these and and th this was the final straw for him in in his eyes. but and there's a couple ways that where we can go about this, right? Yes, he directly attacked the the higher ups, the sporting directors. He defended Carrick to a certain point where he said, Man, we can't just keep getting another coach and another coach, another coach, because at the end of the day, the investment wasn't made. But what I would say there, Anto is If I'm a senior guy or if I'm one of the guys in the dress room, was this conversation held like, hey, one of us is gonna have to speak? Because if it wasn't, that sends a lot of messages not only to the dresser room, but to to the people above, right? Because if I'm a new guy, if I'm telling men coming in, this is my first season with Man United, and Lissandro Martinez is making these comments, when he comes back to the locker room, I'm gonna be like, Hey man, so like am I not good enough? are we not good enough? Like, what do you need, right? that can send that message. Two, did they all talk about this? They'll all like, hey, we need somebody to go out there and and speak to the media and touch on our frustrations, right? Three, did he did he talk to a senior player? Because although Martinez has been there for a couple years, he's only played about 80 games. So I don't consider him a senior player, right? So he shouldn't have been the advocate. And if he was, did he touch base with some of the senior guys like Maguire? Hey, we need somebody to go out there and and touch on on our frustrations and attack the board. Right. So a couple of different things c came out of that conversation. And ultimately I don't think he was a guy to have that conversation with the media because he is not having a good season as well. Yes, he won the previous previous previous World Cup with Argentina, yes, he was a starter recently with Argentina in the recent World Cup, but Lisandro's not having the best of games himself. I could say he was involved in those two goals against authentico. I s I can say he's involved in some of the mistakes against Fulham. I mean, I'm sorry, Tottenham. and ultimately, man, I don't know. I just don't think this was the time or place because one, you could have done this early on in the season when the investment wasn't coming in, versus waiting weeks and weeks after where the season is already going, because there's nothing you can do right now, right?
Project 90 Soccer: Yeah.
Marco: And last and lastly what I would say, Anto, what happened to Roy King when he he's he spoke about the club and what was going on back in the day? Bro, he ended up getting released, he ended up getting getting transferred. what happened to Cristiano Ronaldo when he spoke about the the the installations at Old Trafford, how that they're not renovated, nothing has improved since since his first stint there. Him and Ten Hawk, they ended up letting him go. Right. And ultimately Wayne Rooney had some had some comments when he was talking about investment in the club and ultimately he saw his way out of out of Man United. So what does this tell me is that potentially Lissandro Martinez he can be on his way out because with something Man United has shown is when you speak out against them and the club and forgive all my Red Devil fans and my my my Man United fans because you guys always come with the comments, but I think that this can be a possibility of him being on his way out. Now, to
Project 90 Soccer: Uh-huh.
Marco: to close it off until before I give you the reins on this, supposedly, right, a couple of days later, he came out, he had a positive conversation with the higher ups, whatever the case may be. But honestly, I think that's just one of those things where, hey, you need to go out there in the media again, let them know that we spoke about it, just so we can take off some of the heat of what we got going on right now. Because like I mentioned already a couple of times in these past couple of minutes. I don't think this was the right time, nor he was the right player to address these concerns and frustrations because he was hot right after your game. He was emotional, and that is not the place or time where you want to address these things.
Project 90 Soccer: You're right. No, you're right. With the the post match, obviously emotions are high, right? They just lost another game. Things are not going their way. So he's just out there venting. Now the question is, like you're bringing up, is he the right player to be doing this? You'd expect Bruno Fernandez as the captain, or perhaps a Harry McGuire, or just all around in general, not to be doing it post match the way that Lisandro Martinez did like that. And you know, he came out and he had Basically saying he expects more, right? He called out in particular Jason Wilcox here, the technical director. He argued
Marco: Mm-hmm.
Project 90 Soccer: United needed more players to compete with Europe's best teams, which in my opinion, he what he said maybe in the delivery wasn't the right time or place. Maybe they're not the right player, but he really is just calling out the elephant in the room and When we usually hear this criticism about Man United, it's coming from the media. It's coming from the ex players, Roy Keynes or Gary Neville's and it's not ever really coming directly from the players themselves. And I want to believe that they are all on the same page with what he's saying. I don't think it's just him that sees it. I think he may have just been the one that had the guts to kind of come out and just say, Okay, like we we we get it. We're not like
Marco: Agree.
Project 90 Soccer: oblivio oblivious to what's going on here. But at the same time, Both things can be true because he said also that, you know, it's not just the manager or the behind the scenes, the staff and everyone at the club. It's comes down to the players needing to perform as well. So it's an entire club issue. And it's to the point where, yeah, when Roy Keane spoke out during his days, you know, that was a different United though. That was a united that was more or less more successful than the team we're seeing now for the past couple, however long it's been now. These problems have just been persistent. They haven't changed. They haven't done nothing. And yeah, they got rid of Roy Keene. He ended up leaving the club. Ronaldo, the same thing. Him and Ten Hog just never it never looked like they even got along. And he criticized the club for pretty much being behind. Like they're not, they're not changing with the times. And now the results have shown it and they continue to show it. And Michael Carrick came out and said, Yeah, we discussed it. You know, Lisandro Martinez is going to be in the team. This isn't something that's going to now put us or make us now make him sit to the side because he came out and criticized the club. Cause it's a valid frustration, right? And he didn't just blame the coach. He didn't just blame behind the scenes at Man United. He
Marco: Just overall. Mm-hmm.
Project 90 Soccer: blamed the players as well. So it it's something that I think Manchester United, they do have deeper problems, like we've just been saying over and over. They lost again now in the Champions League. They're losing against teams like Tottenham with a man up. it's unacceptable, right? For a club as big as United. And the problem is though, now is talk is just talk. They can just talk about it all they want. They keep saying the same things over and over. People keep criticizing the same problems, but nothing's changing. The results aren't changing. They're not a top contender in the Premier League at this point. They haven't been, even in the Champions League. They're not a top European side. All of that is valid and true. So my question is what do they do? What are they supposed to do? What are they supposed to do? Are they supposed to now invest heavily in the transfer market? Sure. Are they supposed to find maybe a better and more top manager? Sure. But we've seen both of those things happen and still nothing's changed. So what what do you do for United?
Marco: Unless less less
Project 90 Soccer: What do they do?
Marco: less the investing part, right? Less. Because
Project 90 Soccer: Mm-hmm.
Marco: they're generating a sh a ton of money. And I was looking at I was looking at numbers. They invested on the transfer market roughly around the same as Arsenal did. Now, if I'm an Arsenal fan, yeah, I can speak to that like man, we have a squad right now. We don't have to invest too much, we need just a couple guys. But for a s a team like United who just continues to struggle. And there's turnover left or right, there should have been a little bit more of investment. So this I tell to the owners. it's it's the it's going back to one of our followers who was commenting one of the previous episodes. Yeah, it is the ownership and the sporting directors job to ensure that we have the right players. If we don't have the right players, make those the the moves necessary to get the right ones in and give Carrick everything he needs. Because Anto, how many conversations or interviews have we seen from coaches who are like, I want it, I didn't want this player, but this is the player they gave me. I wanted this player,
Project 90 Soccer: Yeah.
Marco: but but I didn't get this player. So going back to what you were saying, I mean we can do only so much what we have, but ultimately we don't have a squad that can compete or win the league. So I point the finger at at the higher-ups. going back to what you're saying, it's just an overall Shithole right now. There's just so much stuff going on where it's one of those things where it's like you don't know where to stop the bleeding because we're bleeding from all over the place. So
Project 90 Soccer: Right.
Marco: and to your point, to your question, you can't do anything right now, you just have to wait it out. You need
Project 90 Soccer: Yeah.
Marco: put your foot forward and and do the best you can. Now, what I will say is they do have enough of a team to beat these other clubs, like Tottenham, that should have been a dub. All
Project 90 Soccer: Yeah.
Marco: right. You have enough of a squad to beat teams that are struggling even more than you do. Right? so I don't know. At the end of the day, just really, really bad timing. But to your point, it could have been a situation where like, hey, we just all need to get it off our chest and air this stuff out. But I don't know, man.
Project 90 Soccer: Yeah.
Marco: It just gave Man United another black eye to their season. And now this is something that's gonna be talked about for the weeks to come.
Project 90 Soccer: Yeah. Well, and speaking of the manager and Carrick and how they come in and say, Well, I didn't want this player, I didn't want that player. They were just here. I wouldn't have bought that guy. I would have bought someone else, so on and so forth. He even questioned Lissandro Martinez questioned the club's repeated managerial changes, right? Which is it's valid. It's it's asking why the focus was always on the manager rather than the other areas of the club. And like you had pointed to, it's the higher ups. Why are you constantly changing managers and not letting them settle in, build the team that they want and believe that they can go win with and give them a solid four years to go try and do that? I when was the last time they had a manager for four years or for five years straight?
Marco: Anto, and now we look what Ruben Abraham is doing. I know I was a fan. I was I had that nostalgia of Carrick is gonna come back. He had a good closing end to the season,
Project 90 Soccer: Career there, yeah.
Marco: closing end to the season, he's our guy. I
Project 90 Soccer: Uh-huh.
Marco: let that get in front of what I was supposed to be paying attention to. And look at Ruben Abraham, man. You did he questioned the board, he questioned the team, and he found his way out immediately, right?
Project 90 Soccer: Right.
Marco: And look what he's doing with AC Milan, he's lost one game.
Project 90 Soccer: Yeah, he's killing it.
Marco: one game to an to another team that was having a shitty situation as well. He's been able to bench starters, bring up young talent, like C said, who's killing it right now.
Project 90 Soccer: Shout out to him. Yeah. Four goals or three goals last game. Youngest Italian ever in European. Yeah, game.
Marco: Yep. Yep. So Ruben Aaron is showing that w if you let him do his thing, he can turn things around. Unfortunately, that didn't work over here with Man United. And again, going back to what we were saying, man, it's just the higher ups need to make better decisions. I don't know, man. There's just been situations going on since the Glazers,
Project 90 Soccer: Mm-hmm.
Marco: ownership and the the the nonsense going on with them and it's just so much, man. For a club that's so historic that has won so much in the past. for for a stuff like this to be going on and who knows, maybe this is their their situation. This is the bumpy road that they need to go to go through to get back to where they needed to be so they can see that United can go through these things also.
Project 90 Soccer: Yeah. And and it's like the irony of it is we hear the the guys on TV, the Wayne Rooneys and Jamie Carragers, they're always criticizing the club. And then you hear Martinez come out as a player who who has essentially the balls to come out and just say, Okay, look, like I this is what I feel. This is as a player on the field, as a person part of this club currently. And then you hear Caragher and Rooney say, Well, those that was kind of disrespectful of him. That was this and that of Martinez to do that. And yeah, was the time and place right? No. But But I mean, come on, like if you're in the club currently and things need to change right now and you're part of the right now, to me, what he said needed to be said, whether he it was in the right time or not. Now I I I see Amarim s succeeding now with AC Milan. Sure, there's times where coaches come in, they don't do well with a team, it just didn't work out. But man United's been over and over and over. So all I can point the finger at at this point is not even the players, it's to me it's the higher ups. It's the owners, it's the people in charge of the club. They need to figure it out. They need to sit down and really put together a plan, something similar to what PSG has done. They had a goal in mind and they chased that goal. And now look at them, they're on top of Europe. They're one of the best teams. They just smacked Manchester City. So I mean,
Marco: Mm-hmm, mm-hmm.
Project 90 Soccer: Man United needs to regroup and they need really have a clear goal and vision in mind of what they want this club to be. Cause right now I feel like the owners are looking at it as just a source of income, as a way to make money. They don't really care too much about winning. Yeah, they'd like to win, but It's really not they're not in there as owners that are saying, I want this club and I want the club that I own to win. I don't
Marco: Mm-hmm.
Project 90 Soccer: feel that from the owners at Man United. So like you said, man, they're gonna have to squeeze all the juice that's left in this lemon out for the rest of this season because it's just another one of those seasons where there's no there's nothing coming
Marco: And
Project 90 Soccer: from it, it feels like.
Marco: and they have a tough game ahead of them this weekend against Leeds. Leeds
Project 90 Soccer: Mm-hmm.
Marco: Leeds has shown that they're tough. And hey, I wouldn't put it past them that they can either tie or beat United with the situation that they got going on. So I don't
Project 90 Soccer: Yeah.
Marco: know. Moving on. Enough Red Devils. Anto, what do we
Project 90 Soccer: Moving on. Enough Red Devils, yes.
Marco: got going on in the Champions League outside of AC Milan just doing their thing? C Set gain a hat trick, youngest. Italian to do it. Anto,
Project 90 Soccer: Yep.
Marco: give me some juice.
Project 90 Soccer: Yeah, other Champions League results here. Sporting beating Lonz two to zero. Sabah Masazir, two to zero verslavia Prague. Arsenal three zero versus Lille. Really just getting it done there. I thought he'd come Madrid, like we said, two zero, Man United. Inter Milan losing to Club Bruges, man. Four to three. That's a big result. Barcelona doing what they do, getting a four one win versus Galatasaray. Red Bull Ibzig one zero versus Eindhoven. And the I think maybe the biggest shock of this win of this match day for the Champions League was Viking giving Bayern Munich a hell of a time. They tied three to three. Bayern Munich got a red card, but Viking had the lead at one point. And it was sort of a shocker there to see them even be in that game the way that they were. Now the next day for the Champions League, Liverpool. This we you were asking for Barclay to have a breakout game. Of course, this was versus L A S K. It's not the strongest team, but The man got four goals. six to three victory for Liverpool.
Marco: He heard me.
Project 90 Soccer: He heard you, man. And Real Madrid, this was an exciting game versus Roma. Mourinho going up against his former side. four to three win for Real Madrid, though. That was kind of a that was a that was a good game, to be completely honest. Rudiger
Marco: Mm-hmm, mm-hmm, mm-hmm.
Project 90 Soccer: getting the winner there, the ex Roma player. Aston Villa, six to zero,
Marco: Six
Project 90 Soccer: man, versus Fenerabache, who's not. A smaller team. You'd expect a better performance and outcome and result from a team like Fenerabache, but shout out to Villa. Dortman losing to Glimped, bro. Bodo Glimped one to zero. That's not a good result for Dortmund. A great result for Bodo Glimped. And then Man City PSG, a game I want to touch on here. Four to two, man. Four to two PSG. They came out swinging at the Etihad. They really just gave it to him. Dewey opening up the scoring and then PSG just doing what they do. But Holland. Being Holland, giving them a response, putting some in the net. Real Betis three to two versus Porto and Stuttgart three to zero versus Slovan Bratislava. Now going back to PSG Man City, I heard recently Man City's punishment by WEFA might be a suspension of up to 10 years from European competitions. clearly the players are going they're
Marco: I like it, I like it.
Project 90 Soccer: the players are going out there and they're still performing, right? They're still trying to get wins. PSG's just on another level. It seems like they're really comfortable with their team. They have a great team. Again, something Man United's not doing. They have a coach that's been around that's built this team into the team that they are. He really knows his players. And Man City, though, with the with the potential of a 10 year band, you think that's fair? Do you think that's right? Do you do you agree with that potential punishment? Hmm. Yeah.
Marco: As a Man United fan, I think it's right. I think it's fair. Right? Anto, 115 infractions? You
Project 90 Soccer: Mm-hmm. It's pretty bad. It's pretty bad. If it was 116, then I'd be more upset. No, I'm just kidding. It's bad.
Marco: I don't know. I i y you gotta how do you say it? You you have
Project 90 Soccer: There has to be a punishment that that really just puts it into place that you cannot do this shit. Like you can't just do that and get a slap on the wrist.
Marco: Yeah, exactly. Exactly. You need to make example of somebody, and this somebody is Man City. Obviously, a hundred and fifteen infractions, maybe others are going on. They knew about it. They still spent the money. X, Y, Z, etc. if that's true, 10 years, then l so be it, right? Because 30 points going into the next scene, that doesn't do anything, Antho.
Project 90 Soccer: Yeah.
Marco: It's Man City, they got the squad, they can still finish top eight, even with that deficit of of thirty points. Let's say they get suspended from European football for two, three years. That's nothing. That's nothing.
Project 90 Soccer: Yeah.
Marco: Because that means they can still focus on the domestic league, the Premier League, I'm sorry, and s still generate millions and millions and millions of dollars. So if they if they get this slap on the wrist, it's gonna be not only one black guy for Man United, but one Two black eyes for the Premier League and the people running the Premier League because that just lets you know that hey, you know what, guys, we could you guys could do whatever the F you want, and there's gonna there'sn't gonna be any consequences. So if it is that it's gonna be a 10-year band, then so be it. I did see something come out where Enzo's people, Enzo people are are already saying, like, hey, my guy's not gonna be relegated. My guy's gonna already l already looking at other teams, Real Madrid, Barcelona, on where he can go. Because he needs to play elite football. So if that's the case, I don't think he's the only one. I think other players are are doing the same behind the scenes. So if this 10-year ban is legit, I'm looking forward to it. I'm looking forward to the new the the news clippings and stuff that makes it official. And ultimately, I just want to already see it. W it's already been a couple weeks. I'm I'm sure they have their punishment. They just haven't come out and addressed it. Maybe they're waiting for A certain date. I'm not sure. But to touch on to touch on the game, PSG gave Man City a reality check. Man City was on a high, getting wins, scoring goals, just overall looking good, putting the the the the infractions behind them. But PSG came in, duet did his thing. Duet did
Project 90 Soccer: Yeah.
Marco: his thing. He played very, very well. And they gave him a reality check. Like, hey, do you need to settle down? We still run Europe. We're the champions of Europe. And whenever you guys play us, it's never gonna be easy. So shout out to them, Enrique. You guys did a hell of a job and were able to put Man City in check. And Holland, per usual, like I said, one of the best strikers in the world. You did your thing to always try to put your team in position to win and and showing that he's always fighting for for his team.
Project 90 Soccer: Yeah, man, PSG, PSG, you want to talk about a team that has serious depth on the bench. I mean, that Vadashvilya, who came from Napoli, major signing just starting on the bench. And instead they put Dewey to start. And look what Duay's doing. So then you sub one guy for the other, and it's just like, how do you you're not you're not losing any quality at all? Like you're putting in a complete world-class player for like another one, essentially. So PSG might be the one team in the Champions League that, yeah, obviously they've won the last. You know, two, they're two time winners now. but they have I mean, they have a team that is no joke. I mean they had
Marco: Think it's between them and Arsenal, bro. What do you think?
Project 90 Soccer: Yeah, I'd say them and Arsenal. And potentially what I'm going to get to now is Barcelona, maybe. Because Barcelona, now this next round of games, Barcelona versus PSG, which to me arguably aside from Arsenal as well. But Barcelona and PSG are the two strongest teams, in my opinion, in Europe right now. particularly in the Champions League. PSG obviously in League isn't very the most competitive league, to be fair, but Barcelona is firing right now in all cylinders as well. so on October 20th, I think that's gonna be the biggest matchup in the next round here of games. And quickly, I want to touch on Real Madrid too versus Rome. You know, Mourinho, they they're grinding out results, right? They are getting wins, but it's starting to become very clear, I think, that Real Madrid is like kind of scattered right now. They really don't have
Marco: R having issues.
Project 90 Soccer: the they're having issues, man. It's not a solid, clean team performances. They're not dominating games. They're not having these dominant victories. And I think maybe it's not what everyone expected to see with Mourinho coming back. And it's definitely not what you expect to see with the squad that they have, right? The attacking,
Marco: Anto,
Project 90 Soccer: yeah.
Marco: his signings. Are they getting a lot of minutes right now?
Project 90 Soccer: That's what mean, man. They they they spent a lot of money in the transfer window. And you know, you can make all the excuses you want where it's a new coach, right? It's a bunch of new players. They're still trying to find their feet. But these these aren't just any players or any clubs, a world class elite level club with elite level players. And by now, at this point in the season, like they should have it somewhat figured out. And they just look unbelievably scattered. regardless of getting the victory with Rome. But I think I think they're one to look out for. I I would I would confidently be confident when I say that Barcelona is the best team in Spain right now. Without a doubt. Without a doubt. another
Marco: One hundred percent, one hundred percent. Without a doubt.
Project 90 Soccer: another big result or sorry, another big
Marco: I want to touch on, I want to touch on real real quick because I I know we're gonna
Project 90 Soccer: Go ahead, yeah.
Marco: I know we're gonna run into to time. But huge shout out to the the Roma fans, right? Showing Mourinho some love. Once you you create magic and you're and you know you're one of their own, they're always gonna show you love and respect. So shout out to them to showing Mourinho some some love, but also shout out to the guys that came in and those adjustments that Mourinho was able to make. Vini, not doing a good job right now. They're there's
Project 90 Soccer: No.
Marco: they're saying there's a clone out there, which is a bunch of nonsense. Nah. It's just Vina Vina g Vini got plastic surgery and he just looks like a different guy. But Vini, he's not doing his thing. Shout out to Gouler, Spino and
Project 90 Soccer: Andrick.
Marco: and Andric. Andrick, I I I found this really cool. He was saying he was like, I was there on the bench talking to God, and then next you know they called my name. And he ended up being the man of the match. So to what you're saying, they're kind of scared all over the place. I don't know if this was a tactical thing on Mourinho's side with the starting lineup that he had. I don't know if he slowly, I'm pretty sure here identified who are his guys. like I mentioned, the sign is not playing. Buruno Silva went from starting to now getting maybe less than 20 minutes and in three, four games in total. So I think he has his guys. I I with when Malin scored and and Roma was looking good, I was like, all right, they're gonna they're gonna whoop some Real Madrid ass. But ultimately These young kids, like I always say, these young bloods are able to come in and make things happen. And they got the dub. So shout out to these young guys, make make making work of what they had going on.
Project 90 Soccer: Yeah, exciting games, exciting games. I forgot to mention that Feyenoord beat Como three to two. My Como,
Marco: Yeah, I was waiting for that.
Project 90 Soccer: dude. My Como. Man, I had such high hopes for them. So early, they can still make things happen. but yeah, man, getting the three two loss. But this next round of games, this
Marco: I said it. I said it.
Project 90 Soccer: next round of games, Marco, Como versus Manchester United, October 21st. Massive, massive game there. Along with the PSG Barcelona. And then one other one that I think is going to be a big match to watch, which we need to touch on Arsenal one of these episodes, because Calafiotti right now is arguably their best player. That
Marco: Ballin.
Project 90 Soccer: guy, that guy's balling out of control. So we'll have to touch on that specifically maybe next episode. But next round of games, Bayern Munich versus Arsenal. That's
Marco: Good one.
Project 90 Soccer: gonna be an exciting game right there. So When when that comes around October twentieth and October twenty first, I believe, we'll be back with another Champions League wrap-up. Marco, before we close out this episode though, do you any last comments, last concerns, any any words for the fans? What you got?
Marco: It was a good week of upsets. Dortmund losing, Inter losing. Right. We can I guess you can call Como an upset. I I don't call that an upset.
Project 90 Soccer: No.
Marco: and then it just overall, it was a good match day one and twos on on the the the results that were coming out. And what I will say to close it out is Anto, I don't know if you notice PSG. They play like they don't have any number one. The they can play like anybody can score at any single time, even if they're coming off the bench. That group shows me like they're selfless, there's no selfishness, and that they have all the ingredients in the pot and they're stirring it to be on their way to potentially another final because I don't see any protagonists on that team where we say that's our guy.
Project 90 Soccer: Yeah. No, I agree. PSG's really showing it right now that, you know, it it was kind of something I'd mentioned about France in the World Cup. It's like they were there to just win as a team. There was no individual superstar. And when I see PSG, I just see a team, like a full team, a squad, whether you're on the bench or on the field, that wants to win. That's the bottom line. That's the ultimate goal. There's no individuals out there. It's a collective team. And they're showing it, man. They're kicking ass already. And like you said, I see them making it to the final again. Or at least being the favorite and possibly lifting third Champions League trophy in a row, which would be would
Marco: Mm-hmm.
Project 90 Soccer: be pretty badass. So that's it for this episode, though. A little quick Champions League wrap-up. Wanted to touch on United in particular with Lissandro Martinez and the drama going on there still. If you enjoyed this episode, you're watching it on YouTube. Please like and subscribe.
