Project 90 Soccer: always confuse the two. Shabi Alonso, yes. so they originally brought Fernandez in, Cukuray, all these guys, right? And he's just letting them go. And these guys are somewhat, you can say, in their prime, right? So he's getting big, big money for these guys. I'm assuming he's got other players in mind that he wants to bring in, the system he wants to play. So I I see it as a loss, maybe initially, like you said, right? Two big players, starting players for Chelsea. But then ultimately, Chelsea wasn't winning. They weren't winning the league. They weren't going advancing

Project 90 Soccer: in the Champions League. So with that being said, you have these big players and people willing to spend the money on them. It's almost like they were there, it wasn't working. You might as well get your money for them, right? And rebuild under a new coach and and start a whole new sort of chapter for Chelsea. That's kind of how I see it going. And yeah, you know, Fernandez, he's obviously right here. Thirty-one goals for Chelsea, so he's not the biggest goal scorer, but you know, he's in regards

Marco: And that's overall all competitions.

Project 90 Soccer: that's all competitions, just goals in general. Yeah. So most people look at Fernandez, say he's one of the best midfielders in the world, right? But it didn't work at Chelsea. Maybe, maybe it'll work in Man City, maybe he unlocks a new level. I don't know. I've never seen it personally from Fernandez to be that guy that you build a team around. I think he's a good complimentary player maybe that you can have around other great players, maybe like Cherokee, like you said. So we're gonna have to wait and see. Honestly, for a hundred twenty five million though, I don't know, dude.

Marco: And Antho Antho, I like fired up players. Guys are like are always like, let's say like a I'm a man you guy, right? Like a a Roy Keane. Like

Marco: his players accountable, right? And demanding excellence and demanding for them to to push to win each game. Enzo, he just likes to complain and cry. And I think this is one of the his his worst attributes as a player. So I think if that starts to a dial it, if he starts to dial that back a little bit, which it may be his character, his personality, and that's just who he is, but I

Marco: think that also plays a role in in his his each game that he plays and overall can impact the rest of the team.

Project 90 Soccer: Yeah, well, I mean, we saw that what? In the final, the World Cup final. I mean, he completely lost his cool, it completely unnecessary to foul Kubarsi the way he did, got a red card, got sent off. And, you know, that could have, you know, Spain was still the better team, but that could have changed the game, right? Now they were playing with ten men. So yeah, I think his weakest attribute as a player is just his attitude, really. Ultimately, it's his attitude. I think he's his ego sort of inflated, especially after the World Cup that they won. I think that happened a lot. Yeah, exactly. And it just it's a detriment, dude, to your team, to your own your own personal the way fans view you. I mean, he was getting booed at Chelsea like that. I mean, he they even want him there. You know what I mean? They didn't want him there, period.

Marco: Of that do you think went into that decision coming off of the World Cup to where, like, look, there's a possibility this guy will leave. He's still a big piece with Chelsea and an important piece. But how much of that outs above Chavez Alonso and the the sporting directors and owners have to do with that decision? Because that can potentially put a damper on the rest of the team, because everywhere you go, he's gonna get boots. How much do you think went into that?

Project 90 Soccer: I think they probably considered it from the from the the manager standpoint, Chabi Alonso, I think I think it was more like he has a certain style or system and he just doesn't like Fernandez, how he plays, how he fits into it. I'm sure like I said earlier, I feel like he's got his eyes on some players around Europe right now that this amount of money, 125 million, right? He and Cukuraya, right? They sold him as well. I mean, with all that money, you can go if you have good scouts. You can find some maybe lesser known players that are on the rise still, but also you could bring in a big name, like another big name that can potentially complement the team a lot better than Fernandez would. Right. So yeah.

Marco: So But they'll probably have to sit on that money at least until the winter transfer window because

Project 90 Soccer: Well, they have to now, yeah.

Marco: yeah, a lot of the windows closed down. I mean, well, you have Saudi Arabia still open,

Project 90 Soccer: Yeah.

Marco: Portugal I think a couple of days I don't know. But like all the top leagues and where all the players play, like for example, Spain or wherever the case may be. I mean the window's closed.

Project 90 Soccer: Done. Yeah, he's gonna have to wait, man. So we'll have to see if they can hold on, right? Chelsea, they they had a a sketchy win this weekend, which we'll get to. But another big transfer, I want to close out the transfer talk here, was Bradley Barcla, right? PSG. The dude didn't really play, right? He's all even for France, right? He's just coming off the bench, coming off the bench. Now for Liverpool, obviously they got rid of Mo Salah, right? One of their he's a winger essentially, an outside forward. So Barcla sort of fits that position. Really well, right? They spent a hundred and seven million on him, potentially up to a hundred and twenty three with add-ons and all that. That's a lot of money, right? They didn't spend that much when they got Salah. They didn't they they haven't really dropped a bag like that. So do you think Barcla comes into Liverpool and really makes that impact for that price tag in part in especially?

Marco: Frankly, I love that signing. I love it for him. I love it for for for Liverpool, right?

Marco: and I love it that he didn't go to Arsenal. Arsenal wants all these guys and they just they just for some reason can't get the the ink to dry on on on the contract or for them to

Marco: I think if he played on another national team. Where he wouldn't be overshadowed by the Dues, the Dembelez, the Mbappes. We'd

Marco: probably be seeing this guy as a superstar, on in another nation, or or whatever the case may be. But yeah, man, he wasn't gaining a t a ton of run. So I love it, especially for what Liverpool is is getting a new identity and they're going into in a very different direction from when they were with the Mo Salah era and the the older guys that that that left the club. But yeah, ultimately the man, I love it for him and I can't wait to see him on Saturdays and Sundays.

Project 90 Soccer: Yeah, and Barkle is always the guy with the national team and with club. Like he was never given really that full opportunity to be the starter week after week to really get out there. Granted, there were bet there are good players around him, right? So obviously Liverpool now spending that kind of money, you'd imagine they're gonna bring him in, they're gonna use him. Like he's gonna be on the starting lineup. That's obviously I would imagine the vision they have for it. So this might be the opportunity for him to we've already seen how good he is when he does come on, right? So to give him regular playing time, I mean, this could be a massive breakout season for him and ultimately can help Liverpool. And coming coming out of like the transfer talk for Liverpool was this past weekend here, now moving into the Premier League, they tied two to two versus Nottingham Forest. So, you know, you look at a signing like that now, it kinda it it's sort of justified in a sense where they need that player to just take it to that next level, really threaten all these defenses, especially when they play better teams. This is Nottingham Forest we're talking about. So when you come up against the Man Cities, Chelsea's, Man United's, you're gonna need that

Flo called it and he's like, look, I don't like the way they treated me or how they were saying my medical was going, so he ultimately decided to stay puts and he stays in France. But something is I was something I was reading earlier was he was not registered for the Waifa Conference League or any of the European matches that they have coming up because I mean Monaco already had plans that this guy was gone.

Project 90 Soccer: Balogun, yeah. Wow. So I mean that sucks because you would you see that that would have been a win-win for USA and for Mexico, right? You get Balogun, one of your best strikers, starting striker from the World Cup, to move to the Premier League, best league in the world, right? To to really prove yourself as a striker, one of the best leagues. And then to have Eric Lita, who was a standout player for Mexico. Getting that move to Europe, right? Now both of them falling through. Sucks for the national teams, right? but yeah, man, there's been a there's been a few like same thing with Alvarez as well. Athletico Madrid, just nothing happened.
